These rules are created to be beneficial to all club members and for the whole of HOL. We are lucky to have this club, because anime is very controversial at times in its rating system, so we must be careful as well. Remember, there are little kids in HOL and everything must be kept G-rated if possible. Never put anything above it. Please protect the exsistance of HOLAA by following not only the letter of the law, but the spirit of the law as well. Use your good judgement. The rules may be revised from time to time, dependant on the need for a revision or an addition. These rules are courtesy of Missa-chan, with editting by Rowen, and can also be found on the HOLAA forum. Thank you!
General Site/Forum Rules
- Pictures are not to be uploaded on forum at all. There are no exceptions unless they are in your signature and then they must meet with HOL specifications.
- If you have a picture you would like others to view you may talk about it and if they are interested they may contact you through PM or email.
- Pictures that will automatically be not allowed are: Any picture where any part of a characters clothes are missing, any descriptive violence (that does not include a picture of someone holding a sword, just the act of violence), and any picture of a yaoi/slash genre. Go through PM.
- No links to any pictures will be put on the forum, unless you have PMed Missa or Artemis before hand and received confirmation that the picture is indeed acceptable to view. This also means that if there are multiple pictures on the page, then you may not post the link to the picture, unless the other pictures are appropriate as well.
- You may not post a link to your website, or someone else's website if it contains any material above a G rating. You may discuss and go through PM though. This includes any website, HP related, anime related, or your own.
- Fanfiction on websites must be of no more than a PG rating. This means, no nudity, excessive violence, excessive swearing and especially no mention of anything above kissing in relationships (this means no intimate contact or physical love between any characters). If you are unsure that your fanfiction fits between these parameters, please contact us and we'll let you know.
Discussion Rules
While we know and understand that some people enjoy different types of anime we must limit our controversial discussions as much as possible. I, myself will have a difficult time with this rules as I am a yoai/slash fan. Please respect the rules though.
- You may discuss any anime. However, do be tasteful in your discussion. Remember, not everyone likes the same type of anime and they may get offended.
- No swearing is allowed.
- Try to make your discussions appropropriate and keep them at a G rating. If something is not at that rating, we will edit your post if possible. If not, we will have to delete it.
- Form your responses in a constructive way. Saying, "You're wrong!" doesn't count! That is SPAM and will be deleted quickly.
- Limit the use of polls, please.
Review Rules
Those who know me, know my fondness and adoration for rules. Which I have entirely too many of. So bear that in mind while reading the following. And remember, I don't make rules to make your life hard, but to make everyone else's easier.
- Reviews need to be longer than three paragraphs and they need to be constructively written. No foul language, etc. Treat it as though it were the board rules. They will all be read for content by me before going onto the site itself.
- Please include in your review a list of any offensive material in the anime.
- They are NOT to be placed here on the boards. FIll out the submission form and I will review them, and yes, even correct your spelling.
- Every month there will be three animes I would like reviews on, but you may include others if you'd like.
Fan Art Rules
Ok, along with the rules at the top about pictures, etc, I have included a list of what to submit and not to submit for the fan art section to clear up any confusion.
- Fan art must be submitted and reviewed by Amatsu Tenrai before they can be posted.
- Include a title and short description of the work.
- All pictures must follow the rules of HOL and HOLAA.
- Make sure to sign your works and label them with your HOL name. I am going to try to create a section to make it easier to search by artist.
Please also see the HOLAA MAC rules.
